This machine is powered by an electro-hydraulic power pack with a rapid approach pump as standard (low pressure) and a high pressure pump for testing.
General features (frames, platens, loading rams, ball seating assembly and power units) are on page 401. Dial Gauges (Bourdon type) are 200 mm diameter with permissible error ± 1% in upper four fifths of full scale. Parallax error is eliminated with a strip mirror and a slip pointer is used to indicate peak load.
